Hellurei taas pitkästä aikaa! / Howdyhow again after a long time!

Kuukaudessa on taas kerennyt tehdä vaikka ja mitä. Miniloma Nizzaan, syysloma Suomessa ja paljon muuta seikkailua. Viikko ennen syyslomaa tein miniloman Nizzaan, kun ystäväni Suomesta tuli käymään luonani Ranskassa. Menin Valencesta Nizzaan BlablaCarilla eli kimppakyydillä. BlaBlaCarilla on oma nettisivu jonne ihmiset ilmoittavat omia kyytejänsä.  Se on mielestäni luotettava ja halpa. Saavuin Nizzaan iltapäivällä ja Amanda jo odotteli minua siellä. Koska sää oli ihanan aurinkoinen ja lämmin, päätimme kävellä meidän hotellille, joka oli 2 kilometrin päässä keskustasta. Hotellimme sijaitsi aivan rannan tuntumassa, mikä oli todella ihanaa. Emme jaksaneet ensimmäisenä iltana tehdä juuri mitään, koska minä olin väsynyt kouluviikosta ja Amanda väsynyt matkustamisesta. Päätimme käydä vain syömässä ja rentoutua loppuilta hotellissa.

In the past month has happened a lot. A mini holiday to Nice, fall holiday in Finland and lots of other adventures. One week before fall break, I went on holiday to Nice, when my friend from Finland came to visit me in France. I traveled from Valence to Nice with BlaBlacar, so carpooling. BlaBlacar has their own website where people announce their available rides. In my opinion, it is reliable and cheap. I arrived to Nice in the afternoon and Amanda was already waiting for me. Because the weather was lovely; sunny and warm, we decided to walk to our hotel which was about 2 kilometers from the center. Our hotel was located right next to the beach, which was really lovely. We didn't have energy to do anything on the first night, because I was tired from school and Amanda from traveling. We decided to only go for dinner and relax the rest of the evening at the hotel.

 Lauantaiaamuna suuntasimme Nizzasta Monacoon. Junalippu Monacoon maksoi vain pari euroa ja matka kesti vain 15-20min. Monaco oli erittäin kaunis, kadut olivat erittäin siistejä ja arkkitehtuuri todella hienoa niinkuin muuallakin Ranskassa. Kävimme katsomassa Monacon Casinon ja Monacon sataman. Casino oli yhtä hieno mitä olin kuvitellutkin ja Casinon pihassa oli paljon hienoja kalliita autoja. Monacon satama oli myös näyttävä hienoine huvijahteineen. Vietimme Monacossa vain muutaman tunnin, koska olimme suunnitelleet shoppailua Nizzassa. Nizzassa on paljon erilaisia kauppoja pääkadun varrella. Sunnuntaina ennen lähtöä takaisin Valenceen, kipusimme Nizzan näköalapaikalle. Sieltä oli huikeat näkymät Nizzan kaupungin ylle ja merelle. Illalla meillä lähti juna Valenceen takaisin.

On Saturday morning we went from Nice to Monaco. The train ticket to Monaco cost only a couple euros and it took about 15 to 20 minutes. Monaco was extremely beautiful, the streets were clean and the architechture was really pretty, just like in France. We visited the Casino and the harbour of Monaco. The Casino was as fancy as I had imagined it and outside of it there was lots of fancy, expensive cars. The harbour was also a sight with its yachts. We only spent a few hours in Monaco, because we had planned some shopping in Nice. Nice has lots of different shops in the main street. On Sunday, before we left for Valence, we climbed up to Nice's vantage point. It had a great view to all of Nice and the sea. Our train to Valence departed in the evening.

Monacon Casino

 Amanda oli luonamme Valencessa torstaihin saakka ja tietysti tuli Amandalle näytettyä Valencen kivoimmat nähtävyydet. Meillä alkoi syysloma koulusta torstaina jolloin Amandakin lähti takaisin Suomeen, mutta emme kuitenkaan menneet samalla lennolla. Syysloma ei minulla kuitenkaan alkanut kovin loistokkaasti... Olin varannut jo lokakuun alussa yöbussin Pariisiin, josta minulla lähti lento aamulla. Menin pysäkille odottelemaan bussia jo puolituntia aikaisemmin. Olin ollut pysäkillä jo tunnin eikä bussia näkynyt, joten iski jo pieni epätoivo Pariisiin pääsystä. Ohi kulki vanhempi rouva jolta kysyin bussista ja hän osasi kertoa, että bussipysäkki, josta bussi kulkee Pariisiin on vaihtunut 2 viikkoa sitten. Bussilla ei siis Pariisiin menty...Onneksi nainen puhui englantia ja pystyin selittämään hänelle tilanteeni. Hän ystävällisesti alkoi selvittämään minulle kyytiä Pariisiin, koska juniakaan ei enää kulkenut, koska oli jo niin myöhä. Hän sai onneksi hankittua minulle kyydin BlaBlaCarilta, josta kylläkin jouduin maksamaan 60 euroa...mutta muita mahdollisuuksia ei ollut. Kuski ei puhunut yhtään englantia, joten oli suuri apu tältä ystävälliseltä naiselta, kun hän auttoi minua. Vaikeuksien kautta pääsin onneksi Pariisin lentokentälle ja siitä turvallisesti Kotiin Suomeen viettämään lomaa. Suomessa olikin jo oikein talviset maisemat ja sain viettää rentouttavan loman kotona.

Amanda stayed with us in Valence until Thursday and of course we showed her the main sights in Valence. Our fall break started on Thursday, which was when Amanda left also, but we had different flights back to Finland. My fall break didn't start so great... I had booked a night bus to Paris already in the beginning of October, and my flight from Paris was departing the next morning. I went to the bus stop to wait for the bus already half an hour before. I had stood there already an hour and the bus didn't come, so I started to feel desperate about going to Paris after all. Past me walked an elder woman, whom I asked about the bus, and she told me that the bus which goes to Paris, started to depart from another bus stop 2 weeks before. So no bus to Paris... Luckily, the woman spoke english and I could explain her my situation. She started friendly to find out about other options to going to Paris, because there wasn't any trains left either since it was so late. She got me a ride with BlaBlacar, which I had to pay 60 extra euros...but there was no other options. The driver spoke no english, so the woman was of great help, because she helped me. Through all the difficulties I arrived to the Paris airport and from there safe back home to Finland to spend my holiday. In Finland it was already winter and I spent a relaxing holiday at home.
